TPO Roofing Materials by Mustang Roofing

Durable. Energy-Efficient. Built to Last.

At Mustang Roofing, we provide top-tier TPO (Thermoplastic Polyolefin) roofing systems for both residential and commercial flat or low-slope roofs. TPO is one of the fastest-growing roofing materials in the industry—and for good reason. It’s energy-efficient, cost-effective, and engineered to withstand extreme weather conditions common throughout Georgia.

What is TPO Roofing?

TPO is a single-ply membrane roofing material made from a blend of rubber and thermoplastics. It’s primarily installed on flat and low-slope roofs and is known for its white reflective surface that significantly reduces heat absorption—helping homeowners save on energy costs.

The membrane is composed of three layers:

  • A TPO polymer base
  • A reinforced polyester fabric (scrim)
  • A TPO compounded top ply

This combination gives TPO its strength, flexibility, and long-term durability.

This roof shows heavy wind/hail damage: dozens of shingles torn off, cracked, or missing, with exposed decking risking immediate leaks and structural issues. Urgent replacement needed.

Benefits of TPO Roofing

Energy Efficiency
TPO membranes are white and highly reflective, meeting and often exceeding ENERGY STAR® and Cool Roof Rating Council requirements. This means your home stays cooler, reducing the load on your HVAC system and lowering your electricity bills—especially during hot Southern summers.

Weather & UV Resistance
TPO is designed to resist damage from UV rays, ozone, and chemical exposure. It performs well under intense sun, wind, and even hail—making it ideal for unpredictable weather patterns.

Cost-Effective
Compared to other flat roofing options like PVC or EPDM, TPO offers a great balance of affordability and performance. It delivers long-term protection without breaking the bank.

Strong & Flexible
TPO membranes can expand and contract with building movement, reducing the likelihood of cracks and splits over time. This flexibility is critical in high-temperature environments.

Easy to Maintain & Repair
TPO roofs are relatively easy to maintain. The material resists algae and mold buildup, and minor repairs or punctures can often be patched quickly without major downtime.

TPO Roofing for Residential Use

TPO is no longer just for commercial buildings. If your home has a low-slope roof—such as over porches, garages, additions, or sunrooms—TPO is an excellent solution.

At Mustang Roofing, we ensure that our residential TPO installations are neat, secure, and aesthetically integrated with the rest of your roof.

TPO Roofing Installation Process

Our certified installers follow best-in-class practices, ensuring that your TPO roof is sealed, reinforced, and water-tight:

  1. Inspection & Preparation – We assess the substrate for moisture, damage, or rot and make necessary repairs before installation.
  2. Insulation Board Installation – Depending on the energy needs, we install ISO or other compatible insulation materials beneath the membrane.
  3. TPO Membrane Installation – The TPO membrane is either mechanically fastened or fully adhered to the deck.
  4. Heat-Welded Seams – Seams are heat-welded with precision to create a watertight bond stronger than the membrane itself.
  5. Final Inspection & Cleanup – We thoroughly inspect all flashings, seams, and edge terminations, then provide you with a warranty and post-job walk-through.

How Much Does TPO Roofing Cost?

The cost of TPO roofing depends on several factors:

  • Roof size and accessibility
  • Membrane thickness (45 mil, 60 mil, 80 mil)
  • Type of insulation
  • Whether it’s a new install or replacement
  • Warranty coverage

Typical Range:
$5 to $9 per square foot installed

Residential Average (1,500 sq. ft.):
